Save with State Rebates and Federal Tax Credit

Access solar electricity rebates and incentives now and save from 30% to 60% on system purchase.

STATE REBATE

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) provides incentives for residential and non-residential customers under the California Solar Initiative (CSI) including multi-family and single-family affordable housing, existing commercial and residential properties, and solar water heating.

Incentives for all systems less than 30 kilowatts will be paid a one-time, up-front incentive based on expected system performance, including equipment ratings and installation factors. This type of incentive is called Expected Performance Based Buy down (EPBB).

These incentives payment levels have automatically been reduced over the duration of the CSI program in 10 steps, based on the volume of megawatts of confirmed reservations issued within each service utility service territory. The California rebate comes in a cash payment for a prescribed amount per watt of electric. Currently the rebate in San Diego Gas and Electric’s service area is 25 cents per watt and in Southern California Edison is 65 cents per watt for residential solar electric systems. These rebates are typically received within 90 days of paperwork submittal and interconnection approval from the participating utility company. FEDERAL TAX CREDIT

The federal Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 provides incentives for homeowners and businesses to install solar by providing a federal tax credit. Until December 2016, home and business owners can receive a 30% tax credit for installing photovoltaic or solar domestic water heating projects.
